Frequently Asked Questions
-
I start every process with a complimentary 30-minute intake call so I can get to know your child’s needs and answer your questions.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs):
If your evaluation is through a school district, all billing and contracting is handled directly with the district—no cost to families.Private Services:
For assessments, I provide a written contract up front. A 50/50 payment structure keeps things simple—half due before we begin, and half before I share the final report or meet to review results. For hourly services, payment is collected in full up front.Insurance:
I don’t bill insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt with CPT codes) that you may submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Some families are able to get partial or full reimbursement for ADHD or Autism evaluations, though coverage varies. I always recommend checking with your insurance carrier beforehand.

I work with students from preschool through college. As a Licensed Educational Psychologist, my services are always connected to learning and education.
That means I can:
Support young children (as early as ages two to three) who are in preschool or preparing to start.
Work with school-age students all the way through high school.
Partner with college students or adults who are currently in school or considering going back.
My focus is on helping learners at every stage of their educational journey!

At Bright Insights, we take a personalized and thoughtful approach to understanding each child’s unique learning profile. The process begins with an intake conversation, where we gather background information, discuss your questions and concerns, and create a tailored plan for your child.
Next, we dive into a comprehensive assessment, which typically include:
Collecting detailed background history and reviewing school records
Speaking with parents, educators, and sometimes other service providers
Observing your child during the session and at school to note academic, social, and emotional skills in their natural learning environment
Conducting cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral testing based on the referral concerns
Once all testing is complete, we carefully interpret the results and craft a clear, informative report. Finally, we schedule a follow-up meeting with you to review findings, discuss recommendations, and answer any questions- so you leave feeling supported, informed, and confident in the next steps.

Most of our appointments take place Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 4 pm. We know keeping your child in the classroom is important, so we’re happy to schedule testing sessions during school breaks- like spring break, winter break, or summer or whenever it works best for your family. If these hours don’t work for you, I’m happy to work together to find a time that fits your schedule.

For Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs), we typically conduct assessments at your child’s school. This helps your child feel comfortable, keeps them in a familiar environment, and reduces the time and stress of traveling to appointments.
For private evaluations, testing is conducted at an office location in Folsom, CA or El Dorado Hills, CA.
